The Coming Out Monologues, YYC are back this year, and as fabulous as ever. We’re looking for new submissions this year from youth and adult community members alike. If you have a coming out story or ally story we want to hear it!

We’re not just looking for monologues this year, either. We welcome fresh talent of all kinds to perform. If you’re a singer, dancer, artist, or performer, we encourage you to come and and perform!

Auditions for 2018

We are seeking performers for our 2018 shows, with auditions taking place in January 2018! The dates and times for auditions are below:

Tuesday January 9, 2018 at Q Centre (University of Calgary) from 6:00 – 9:00 pm
Wednesday January 10, 2018 at CommunityWise Resource Centre from 6:00 – 9:00 pm
Saturday January 13, 2018 at CommunityWise Resource Centre (time TBA)

Audition Basics

We ask that those interested in auditioning prepare their coming out story or ally story, memorization not required. Everyone is welcome.

The Coming Out Monologues is an event celebrating our diverse stories of coming out from the LGBTQ2SA (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, two spirit, and asexual) community and their allies. This is a great opportunity to tell your own story or read a created monologue. Most people who perform with us have little to no performance experience. We work with you to get you stage ready and support you along the way.
